About

Aliento Cuba focuses the spiritual and humanitarian needs of people living in small rural towns and hamlets in Cuba.   We work in partnership with local pastors and community leaders who intimately know and identify with the people who have the most need in their community.

Our work in Cuba started after visiting several churches in 2010 to identify what support the churches needed to minister to their communities.  This spark of vision was planted by Miriam Melian, who with her husband Rafael pastored several churches in rural Cuba before emigrating to the United States.  Her heart was in both letting people know about God’s love for them and supplying for their fisical needs.

Through the visit in 2010, God opened the opportunity to work with several pastors and churches in north central Cuba.  It is our desire to continue expand to other provinces in the island.

Aliento Cuba is staffed by volunteers and all administrative costs are already funded.  Your donations will go 100% to support the needs of the people in Cuba

“If we are to love our neighbors, before doing anything else we must see our neighbors. With our imagination as well as our eyes, that is to say like artists, we must see not just their faces but the life behind and within their faces. Here it is love that is the frame we see them in.
